Born and raised in Lebanon, I studied biology at the Lebanese University – Faculty of Sciences, where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Life Sciences. I was then selected to pursue a Master’s degree in Genomics and Health, during which I completed an internship in Montpellier (France), where I developed a strong interest in molecular biology. Driven by my passion for research, I moved to Belgium, after flying 5,000 km to start my PhD in the MAGE lab at the GIGA Research Institute.
My PhD research project aims to characterize TFIP11 as a novel RNA-binding protein involved in the regulation of alternative splicing, using in cellulo approach but also in vivo zebrafish model.
Outside the lab, I enjoy traveling, discovering new cultures, reading, watching movies, listening to music/podcasts, and shopping.
